Due to the recent impacts of COVID-19 and Hardhats' commitment to safety by observing and encouraging social distancing, all future meetings will be held online by webinar. Guests are still welcome to join us! Our online meetings have been a blast and we will continue to meet in this setting for the foreseeable future. If you're interested in joining a virtual meeting, please contact us and we will provide you with instructions. Our club dues have been adjusted to reflect the lower cost of holding meetings online.

Hardhats Toastmasters of San Diego

Helping You Develop In Speaking, Leadership, and Life

Member Spotlight

Hardhats Toastmasters has been active since 1974. With members new and old, not every member knows each other as well as we would like! Our member spotlight was developed to get to know our members on a deeper level that we can’t always get within the constraints of a meeting.

Members Start Here

Once you’re a member, there are several steps you should take to ensure you benefit as much as possible from your Toastmasters experience. Follow the link below to learn how to get started with Easy Speak, Pathways, and delivering your first speech.

How To Get Started

1) Visit Our Club

Maybe you’ve already been to a Toastmasters meeting at another club or you’re about to step foot into your very first meeting. Either way, we welcome you with open arms to visit our club. With exception to certain holidays, we meet every Friday morning. Doors are opened at 6:30a and the meeting starts promptly at 7a at the Best Western Seven Seas hotel located at 411 Hotel Cir S San Diego, CA 92108. Look for the sign outside directing you to our meeting room (just through the diner) and there should be one of our members waiting out front to greet any guests. We provide coffee, tea, water, and a buffet breakfast, all of which is complimentary to you on your first visit. We encourage you to visit us as many times as you like before committing to being a member. Seriously…there is no limit to how often you may join us as a guest!

2) Submit Your Application

If you’ve decided that Hardhats Toastmasters is the best fit for you, then we welcome you to submit an application and pay your Toastmasters dues to officiate your membership. A 6-month membership currently costs $117 plus a $7-10 meeting fee (only applies to meetings you attend) which covers your choice of breakfast and the cost of the room which we hold our meetings in.

3) Induction Into Hardhats Toastmasters

Once you’ve applied and paid your Toastmasters dues, on your next meeting you’ll go through a very brief induction ceremony where we welcome you into the club and you begin your Toastmasters journey!
